ICA e-Services online photo reference

Singapore ICA photo size: 400 × 514 pixels

ICA recommends 400 × 514 pixels for online photo submission through its e-Services. This is a digital reference, so an inch or millimetre print setting is not the starting point. Read the full guidance for your actual document and submission route.

Resizing is different from altering a photograph

ICA permits resizing a digital photo but says it must not be altered or enhanced. A background replacement is a separate editing operation, even when the resulting file has the right dimensions. Keep the original background for this use and follow ICA’s guidance about taking the photograph.

How to prepare a dimensional reference

Choose the Singapore preset, load a clear original and review the crop. The output is 400 pixels wide and 514 high. Our preview preserves the person’s proportions instead of stretching the photo to fit. Check that nothing important has been cut off; the correct aspect ratio alone does not establish suitability.

Check the file, then the official guidance

The download review displays the actual output dimensions, estimated file size and whether you have used background editing. Digital presets offer the individual image rather than a print sheet. Choose a format accepted by the receiving service, then inspect the saved image. If your portrait is too small, starting with a sharper original is preferable to enlarging it.

Common questions

Should I print the 400 × 514 image?

This preset is an online-submission reference, so a print sheet is disabled. Use the official instructions for a hardcopy application.

Is a mobile-phone photograph allowed?

ICA discusses using a phone and recommends having another person help rather than taking a selfie. Check its full photo guidelines before taking or submitting the image.
