This page describes the current website features. Public hosting, advertising and measurement services may require additional disclosures before they are activated.
Free access and planned advertising
All discoveries, guides, tools and downloads are free. Advertising is our planned funding model. No Google ad-serving script is installed. Ownership-verification tags and an ads.txt publisher record are present for our pending AdSense review; these do not display ads. The public Cloudflare-hosted domain includes a Cloudflare performance-measurement beacon. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy below for its data practices. We do not claim AdSense approval.
Before advertising is activated, the live site must explain the actual providers, data practices and applicable consent choices. Because families and children may use the site, child-directed treatment must be evaluated before ad code is loaded.
Saved on your browser
The Wonder Hall museum, animal and fossil passports use local browser storage to remember selected discoveries, museum badges and fossil-tour progress. Session storage remembers some searches, filters, scroll positions and globe views. This storage is not an account and does not synchronize across devices.
You do not need to provide a learner name, email address or payment information to use the current website tools. Links can contain animal identifiers, search terms or filters; check the address before sharing a discovery.
External resources and links
Some reference images and bird recordings load from Wikimedia services. Those requests expose normal connection information to the resource provider. Source links open external sites with their own privacy practices.
The extended species dictionary sends the requested animal search and selected taxonomic filters through our species endpoint to GBIF. Avoid entering personal information in an animal search. Downloaded learning kits and field notes are files on your device.
Your browser, your discoveries.
Clearing these settings removes your saved museum, animal and fossil discoveries on this browser. It does not delete downloaded files or change data held by external services.
Contact and privacy requests
For questions about DodoHistory or a privacy request, email hello@dodohistory.com. Messages sent to this address are forwarded through Cloudflare Email Routing to our Gmail inbox. Cloudflare and Google process those messages to deliver and store the correspondence.
If you contact us, we receive your email address and the information you include so we can respond to your request. Please avoid including sensitive information or personal details about children. Contacting us is optional and is not required to use the museum or learning resources.
Hosting
DodoHistory is hosted on Cloudflare Workers. Cloudflare processes ordinary connection and request information to deliver and protect the website. Read Cloudflare’s privacy policy. This page does not claim to control platform logs or external-service retention. Advertising disclosures will be updated before ad-serving code is enabled.
